About
Built inside a real production company. Run by anyone with project work to quote.
Who built FinCanvas?
FinCanvas was built inside Cameron Event Logistics, a UK production company that quotes around 200 projects a year. The founders kept watching estimators rebuild the same Excel template every Monday — different fonts, different cells, the same broken formulas. So they wrote the canvas they wanted, and turned it into a tool other operators can use.
The first version was internal. CEL’s estimators quoted everything from corporate dinners to four-day festivals on it for ~18 months before we extracted the tool, gave it its own name, and opened it up to other project-based businesses.
That history matters because it’s the difference between a tool designed to look good in a sales deck and a tool designed to survive a Friday-afternoon quote crunch. We’re still tenant zero. Every feature ships into a production environment that’s quoting real money the same week.
What we’re here to do.
Replace the project costing spreadsheet with a tool estimators actually want to open. Make quotes the output of cost work, not a separate document to re-create. Make invoicing the obvious next step from winning, not a chore that gets forgotten.
We won’t build a CRM, won’t build a time-tracker, won’t build an accounting suite. Other tools do those well; we’d do them half-heartedly. The job is to be the best tool there is for project-based costing + quoting + invoicing — and be honest about what that doesn’t cover.
Who FinCanvas is built for.
Industry-agnostic on purpose. The shape of the work matters more than the sector — if every job is its own contract with its own cost shape, FinCanvas fits.
