What FinCanvas does for sub-contractors.
Built for the shape of construction project work — fixed quote with day-rate labour, material units, and sub-contractor margins all in one place.
Day-rate library for site labour
Save the rate for every trade — site manager, gangs, scaffolder, plant op — and pull it into a project in one click. Quote a job consistently across the team. No more arguing about whether last month's day-rate was £280 or £310.
Materials units that match the spec
Materials priced per m², per linear metre, per ton — whatever the spec calls for. Cost section variants let you quote Option A (concrete) vs Option B (precast) side-by-side without forking the project.
Sequential invoicing + payment tracking
Invoices generate automatically when a quote is won, with sequential numbering per workspace. Record partial payments against the invoice; FinCanvas auto-rolls it to paid when the balance hits. CIS-aware deduction support on the roadmap.
Common questions from construction operators
Does FinCanvas handle CIS deductions on invoices?
CIS-aware deduction lines aren’t in the default invoice template yet — they’re on the roadmap. In the meantime you can add a CIS deduction as a custom line item on every invoice (one-off or saved in the cost library for re-use). When CIS is built in, it’ll be a per-workspace toggle.
Can I quote retention figures separately?
Yes — use a cost section flagged as overhead to track retention internally, or add it as a final-row line item on the chargeable section so it prints on the quote. Your call which reads cleaner on the client PDF.
Do you integrate with Xero / QuickBooks / Sage for the construction trade?
Not yet. Invoice PDFs export cleanly for manual import. Native accounting integrations are on the roadmap; construction-side priority will follow customer demand.
Can multiple estimators work on the same project at once?
Yes. Real-time presence indicators show who else is viewing the canvas; edits sync live so two estimators can divide a complex tender between them without stepping on each other.
