What FinCanvas does for fit-out specialists.
Built for businesses where the spec runs to dozens of line items per pack — and the client expects a quote that reads the way the design intent reads.
Spec-pack costing without the spreadsheet sprawl
Cost the FF&E pack, the M&E pack, the joinery pack — each as its own cost section. Sub-categories within sections keep a long pack organised (e.g. Joinery → Reception → Counter, Backbar, Display Unit). The structure reads the way the spec reads.
Phased works as variants
Quote Phase 1 (front-of-house) vs Phase 2 (back-of-house) vs Combined side-by-side inside one project. Variants per section let the client choose scope without you forking the file or re-sending a whole new quote.
Sub-contractor margins, fully visible
Sub-contractor rates live in the cost library. Margin per line shows what you make over the sub-contracted price. Internal-only Overhead sections track the bits that don't print on the client quote (PM time, contingency).
Common questions from fit-out operators
Can I quote a fit-out by package — FF&E, M&E, joinery?
Yes — each package is a cost section. Within each section, sub-categories organise the long item list (Joinery → Reception → Counter / Backbar / Display). The quote PDF prints packages in order with sub-category headings so the client reads it the way they read the spec.
Can I phase the works and still quote the whole job?
Yes. Cost section variants let you quote Phase 1 vs Phase 2 vs Combined inside the same project. Compare totals; pick the active variant when sending. No forking the file.
How are sub-contractor margins handled?
Sub-contractor rates live in the cost library. Each line shows the sub-contractor cost + your margin live. You can flag a section as Overhead so it tracks internal-only costs (PM time, contingency) without appearing on the client PDF.
Do you integrate with Procore / Sage / Xero for fit-out work?
Not yet. Invoice + quote PDFs export cleanly for manual import; we don’t auto-push to your project management or accounting tools. Integrations are on the roadmap based on customer demand.
